Neighborhoods in Westside Atlanta have experienced a decrease in crime overall, but their rates remain elevated when compared to the city as a whole.

A goal of the Westside Future Fund is to improve safety by decreasing violent crime and property vacancy. Check out the Westside Future Fund’s impact goals on our website. 

Between 2015 and 2017, Westside Future Fund and its partners initiated several community oriented police initiatives such as Westside Blue, Secure Neighborhoods, Operation Shield and At Promise Center. The data indicates that these initiatives helped curb criminal activities in the westside area.

Standout Stat: As in the City of Atlanta as a whole, property crimes in the Westside Future Fund area has declined consistently between 2010 and 2017. Exceptions to this trend are the increase in Vine City’s rate of property crimes between 2010 and 2015, and a slight increase in English Avenue’s rate between 2015 and 2017.
